You need a new kitchen if the carcasses are failing or the layout no longer works for you. If the cabinets are solid and the layout suits you, respraying them gives a new-kitchen look for much less. Replacement brings jobs that a respray avoids: stripping out the old units, moving plumbing and electrics, making good the plaster, retiling and often new flooring where the old units stood. When a new kitchen is the right answer
Respraying cannot fix a structural problem. If water from a leaking sink or dishwasher has swollen the chipboard, the carcasses will keep failing however good the finish is. If you are extending, knocking through or want an island where none fits now, you are buying a new layout, and that means a fitter. In those cases we will tell you at the survey that a respray is not worth your money.
If you keep your kitchen: two ways to go
A kitchen respray covers the units only: doors, drawer fronts, frames and panels in a new colour. A whole-room kitchen makeover adds spray granite worktops, sprayed tiles, new handles and decorating so the whole room changes together. Both start from £1,500.

How do I know if my kitchen is worth keeping?
Open each cupboard and look at the carcasses. If the shelves are flat, the sides and bases are not swollen or soft, and the doors hang straight once the hinges are adjusted, the kitchen is worth keeping. Swelling around the sink or dishwasher, crumbling chipboard and sagging cabinets are signs that replacement is the better option.
Can I change my kitchen layout if I respray instead of replacing?
No. Respraying keeps your existing layout. If you need to move the sink, hob or appliances, or add a lot more storage, you need a kitchen fitter. If the layout already works for you, respraying changes the look without touching the plumbing or electrics.
Will a resprayed kitchen look like a new kitchen?
A professional respray gives a smooth, even finish with no brush marks, and many of our customers say their kitchen looks brand new. It is still your original kitchen, so worn hinges, damaged carcasses or an awkward layout will not change unless they are dealt with separately.
What happens at the free kitchen survey?
We check the carcasses, doors and hinges, show you sprayed colour samples in your kitchen, and tell you honestly whether respraying makes sense. If it does, you get a fixed-price written quote within 48 hours. If it does not, we will say so.
How long does a resprayed kitchen last?
