When homes in Meltham were built, and what that means for the frames

Around Meltham centre, the Valuation Office Agency counts 4,130 properties: 25% built before 1919, 8% between the wars, 26% from 1945 to 1972, 21% from 1973 to 1999 and 20% since 2000. The figure that stands out is the 25% (about 1,020 properties) built before 1919, above the 21% average; houses of that age were built with timber sashes and panelled doors, so any uPVC on them is a later replacement.
